About Dr. Moose.

(as of November 2000...)

In case any lost wanderers or genuine seekers really want to know, my real identity is Stuart Mousir-Harrison, connected to the Net from the United Kingdom. I'm about 5'10" tall, bespectacled and sport a moustache and goatee.(What do you mean 'where's the photo?' Follow the link!) I've spent over seven years at various universities and colleges, and finished a PhD in Geography ( I can prove it!) in 1997, combining Geographic Information Systems technology, historical maps and a normal stand-alone PC (a 33MHz 486 at the time) - if you really need to know. If you're that desperate click on the link above to read the abstract and conclusions of my work: a sure cure for insomnia! If you're really lucky I might even get the whole thing on line...

After years of work avoidance in academic study(!) I have recently been ordained as a deacon in The Church of England - proof indeed that God does have a sense of humour! I do believe that a vital and living Christian faith is absolutely crucial, but I want to try to communicate that without ramming it down people's throats. (See what makes me tick). Otherwise I've been a civil servant, a data-entry clerk, a labourer's mate and a computer support technician. It's an exciting life in the Kingdom of God!

When I'm not working far too hard, writing sermons, relaxing with a bottle of beer or working at the PC, I've been known to play guitar (adequately), sing high tenor parts in choirs, fail spectacularly at keeping a journal, write poetry when inspiration strikes and even occasionally sleep! This degree of actvity also helps to explain why the website changes ever-so-slowly, just like the church!

Every so often I spend time trying to trace my family tree (currently I'm back to about 1763), but more usually I spend a lot of creative energy in writing oddments for role-playing, particularly Traveller, as well as writing Bible Studies and other similar God-related things, but then again, that's my job! I do this to get some light relief! It's interesting that despite all the writing its years since I've actually done any role-playing despite having an extensive collection of materials. I've somehow managed to get about 40 GURPS supplements, while never having actually played GURPS, while my RPG collection also includes Earthdawn, Vampire, Wraith, the excellent Call of Chthulhu, Traveller 2300, Luther Arkwright RPG, Toon and maybe a couple others that I've forgotten.

I'm married to Mrs. Moose, other wise known as Siân, who works as a nurse. Go here for a picture! If you want to know any more.... "fnord" as my fiends (sic) the Illuminati would say. That's classified.
